POEM - When I am among the trees

When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily.I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often.Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.” The light flows from their branches.And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”Bless your heart. KNOWING ONES TRUTH

This is a note to self coming out of an experience this morning that reminds meagain that it is important to know one's truth,to know one's truth deep enough that there is no need to convinceany other of it, of our truth, and we do that by developing, deepening our connectionwith the love within us. You want to call it Godthe divine, the beloved.I like the words love and divine essence because for me, both of those, they're one and the same.And all truth is found there.So, to know your own truth deep enough within youthat you have no need to convince others of it.
